Debra comes to Smarts Skirts Entertainment with 15 years of experience in the world of entertainment. Her passion for music led her to Nashville where she quickly became immersed in the music industry. With a natural talent for connecting people & ideas Debra began working in music publishing. The first song she pitched ended up on a network TV special where it was performed by country music icon Trisha Yearwood. Music publishing paved the way for the next phase of her career, artist management & development. Debra began guiding careers of new talent by producing their showcases, booking them on TV shows and infusing them into other media such as the fashion industry. The next arena Debra entered was celebrity booking. She began booking some of the most well known authors, athletes, television stars and entertainers in the country.
With her ability to direct talent, music & people Debra began pitching scripts and music in Hollywood. In 2008 Debra presented a song to the producers of American Idol. The song was picked up as one of 20 songs entered into the American Idol song competition.
